UIC Rating: B- for the RCG

For the second time, the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has achieved a good result.

The international railway association UIC (Union Internationale des Chemins de fer) has given the RCG a good rating of B- as part of the Rail Sustainability Index (RSi), which is supported by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The RSi aims to make the sustainability performance of the railway sector visible and helps investors worldwide to make sustainable investment decisions.

RCG well above average

The rating is based on a framework that is orientated towards seven central goals of the United Nations for sustainable development - the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a large number of key performance indicators as well as over 50 other factors. With a score of 61.7 points, RCG is well above the industry average of 39.27 points and was rated particularly positively for its measures in the areas of Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12).
